The role of the Ötztal Gourmet Ambassadors
The Ötztal Gourmet Ambassadors are an innovative concept to promote the culinary diversity and regionality of the Ötztal. The initiative offers special training for apprentices and employees from the hotel, catering and tourism industries to increase the attractiveness of the professions in this sector. The training comprises three modules with a focus on meat specialties, alpine farming and game products. The focus is on the creative use of regional products. Franz, Samuel and Felix completed the additional training to become Ötztal Ambassadors of Delight during their apprenticeship and recommend this training to every aspiring chef in Ötztal.
A day full of culinary experiences
The culinary ambassadors were able to put their talent to the test at Hotel Riml. Together with Michael Kofler, they prepared a game ragout, which was later served at the Neurauter Frisch trade fair. Visitors to the trade fair were able to enjoy the delicacies from Riml and see the quality and creativity of the preparation for themselves.
Focus on regional products
The work of the gourmet ambassadors is a prime example of the use of regional products in upscale gastronomy. Through their training, they not only learn preparation techniques but also how to use local resources sustainably. This helps to establish the Ötztal as a region of indulgence and to emphasize the importance of regionality in gastronomy.
The cooking day at the hotel impressively demonstrates that our Michel is happy to pass on his knowledge and skills, that young chefs get to know a different cuisine and different processes and that culinary experiences can be created through targeted training and promotion of regional products. The Ötztal Ambassadors of Indulgence make a significant contribution to raising awareness of regionality and sustainability in gastronomy.
